Multi-Media Artist

I was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico. If you’ve ever been to that sparsely inhabited corner of the Chihuahuan Desert, you can imagine it left a lot of space in my childhood for thinking and making. I left Roswell after those formative years to study Studio Art at the University of New Mexico, where I earned by BFA in 2009. Since then, my time has been split between Los Angeles, Chicago, and Havana, with smaller stints in East Tennessee and back in New Mexico. My experiences and observations of people in these disparate places have inspired my work.

My paintings, drawings, textiles, and films have been shown in exhibitions across the country and the world. In 2022, I participated in the 13th Havana Biannual and the 25th Romerias Festival, which showcased my newest film works. These were made in collaboration with my husband, Cuban artist Darwin Estacio Martinez.
